Snow Ordinance In Effect November 1st - April 1st

9.09 SNOW REMOVAL. No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area during any snow emergency proclaimed by the Police Chief, a police office, or the Public Works Director unless the snow has been removed or plowed from said street, alley, or parking area and the snow has ceased to fall. A snow emergency parking ban shall continue from its proclamation throughout the duration of snow or ice storms and the forty-eight hour period after cessation of such storm or until snow removal operations have ceased. Such a ban shall be of uniform application and the Police Chief as directed to publicize the requirements widely, using available news media in early November each year. When predictions or occurrences indicate the need, the Police Chief, a police officer, or Public Works Director shall proclaim a snow emergency and shall inform the new media to publicize the proclamation under the emergency. The emergency may be extended or shortened when conditions warrant.

1. The C1 Central Business District shall be exempt from said parking restrictions during regular business hours.

2. State Street and Station Street adjacent to Baxter Community School property shall be exempt from said parking restrictions during regular C1 business hours of 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 a.m.
