BAXTER MAYOR, TWO CITY COUNCIL SEATS UP FOR ELECTION
Persons interested in running for Mayor or City Council positions can pick up nomination papers at Baxter City Hall. Documents can also be found on the Iowa Secretary of State’s website:

Candidates must be an eligible elector in the City at the time of filing nomination papers and at the time of the election.
Two Council seats are open, each with a four-year term. The Mayor’s seat is also open, this position carries a two-year term. Candidates for the City of Baxter are nominated by Petition with a requirement of ten (10) signatures to qualify for nomination.
Nomination papers will be accepted at the City Clerk’s Office beginning August 28, 2023, through September 21, 2023 no later than 5:00 p.m. For further information, contact Katie Wilson, City Clerk, at 641-227-3120.
