Meter Reading Job Description

 PLEASE DO NOT BLOW GRASS INTO BAXTER'S STREETS!

CITY ORDINANCE, SECTION 105.11, PROHIBITED PRACTICES STATES IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON TO MOW OR DEPOSIT GRASS CLIPPINGS OR YARD WASTE INTO CITY STREETS AND CURBS.

City Ordinance, Section 142.03, DUTY TO TRIM TREES states the homeowner shall keep the trees overhanging the street, trimmed so that all branches will be at least fifteen (15) feet above the surface of the street and eight (8) feet above the sidewalks.

GOLF CART AND UTV REGISTRATIONS WILL BEGIN JUNE 1ST AT CITY HALL:

Annual golf cart permits are required to operate golf carts on city streets. Please bring your golf cart with safety flag and slow-moving vehicle sign, along with proof of insurance, driver's license, and $25 to City Hall for issuance.

Annual UTV permits are required to operate UTVs on city streets. Please bring in or drop off a copy of your driver's license (drivers must be 18 yrs or older), copy of insurance, your Jasper County UTV permit, and $25 to City Hall for issuance. UTVs do not need an inspection performed by the City.

As of April 21st, the 2020 Census response rate for Baxter is 48.5%. Thank you for those that have responded. Let’s shoot for 100% for Baxter!!!

This includes congressional representation, billions in federal funding and providing data that will impact communities for the next decade.
