   The Evangelical Free Church
The Evangelical Free Church was established in Baxter by a group of Christians in 1976. The first services were held in a storefront on Main St. With much interest & growth, it was decided and voted upon to build a church. We first purchased the land from the Olson family and with the many talents in our congregation a church was built. The first service in our new church was held Easter Sunday in the spring of '78. Our church family is very active and we invite anyone to come and visit. Sunday School is at 9:15am, with worship at 10:30. Prayer service is held every Wednesday evening at 7:00.

Congregational United Church of Christ
UCC Church was established in Baxter in 1885. Since that time God has blessed us in many ways. We offer a Sunday School program for all ages, an active youth group, and an involved women's fellowship group. We have a beautiful church, energetic organizations, a friendly congregation, and inspiring worship services that include some of the loveliest music you will hear. We welcome you to join us any Sunday, we think you will agree UCC is an experience of faith you will take with you.

Bethany UCC
Bethany UCC is a pleasant and friendly church located just one short mile east of Baxter on North 95th Avenue West. There you will find a gray stone church housing a congregation of German Reformed background that now welcomes all that wish to worship, regardless of their faith history. Our building is accessible, via a lift located at the south end, under
a rainproof portico.  Our sanctuary, fellowship hall, and classrooms are air-conditioned.  Ample off-street parking is available.

Our Congregation is a diverse mix of teachers, secretaries, cooks, farmers, business owners and those of other occupations. We are younger than most congregations, with a significant number of children and young families. We are welcoming of those of diverse faith experiences, or no faith experience at all. We believe that such diversity makes the church stronger, rather than weaker. In this, we contrast with some contemporary bodies  who insist on uniformity of belief and practice. Our mission is to increase the love of Jesus Christ in our midst and in the world Christ died to save. Bethany offers Sunday School classes, special events, monthly Women's Fellowship meetings, and Fidelians, a group which meets jointly with Congregational's Good News Club. It meets each month for fellowship, programs, and special activities. We offer a youth group during the school year for children up to junior high age. Periodically, I teach classes for youth of Confirmation age.

To learn more about us, contact me at 641-227-3321, at iamolc@partnercom.net, or by dropping by the parsonage just east of the church.  I am happy to provide counsel to those preparing for marriage, those experiencing grief or other life transitions, or those who are struggling with issues of faith and life.  We hope your time in Baxter is fun and enlightening no matter whether it is a few hours, a few years, or a lifetime. Come and be with us.

Our Sunday Schedule is as follows: September through May:
Adult Sunday School 9-10 a.m.
Children's Sunday School 9:15-10:15 a.m.
